Pünktchen und Anton
Pünktchen und Anton sind beste Freunde. Der zehnjährige Anton wächst ohne Vater auf. Als seine Mutter erkrankt, übernimmt er deren Arbeit. Pünktchen ist eine Tochter aus reichem Haus. Doch ihr Eltern haben keine Zeit für sie. Der Junge und das Mädchen versuchen, Geld für einen Erholungsurlaub von Antons Mutter aufzutreiben. Pünktchen singt auf der Straße. Als Anton nicht umhin kann, ein goldenes Feuerzeug zu klauen und dadurch Pünktchens Aktivitäten aufgedeckt werden, gibt es Ärger. Die beiden aufgewühlten Familien erkennen endlich, dass sie etwas tun müssen.

Pünktchen and Anton are closest friends. 10-year old Anton grows up without a father. When his mother becomes ill, he takes over her job. Pünktchen is from a wealthy family, but her parents do not have time for her. The boy and the girl try to find the money needed for Anton's mother to go on a convalescent holiday. Pünktchen starts singing in public places. Trouble arises when Anton can't resist stealing a golden lighter and Pünktchen's secret life is discovered by her parents. Two troubled families finally can see the need for actions to be taken.

Pegica i Anton
Pegica i Anton su dobri drugovi. 10-godišnji Anton odrasta bez oca. Kada mu se majka razboli on preuzima njen posao. Pegica je devojčica iz bogate porodice. Međutim, njeni roditelji nemaju vremena za nju. Dečak i devojčica pokušavaju da dođu do novca kako bi Antonovoj majci platili oporavljenički odmor. Pegica peva na ulici. Ali, problemi nastaju kada Anton ne može da odoli iskušenju da ukrade jedan zlatni upaljač i tako izlaze na videlo i tajne aktivnosti Pegice. Obe porodice konačno shvataju da treba da preuzmu nešto.
Director's Biography: Caroline Link
Caroline Link was born in 1964. After graduating from high school she spent a year in the U.S. In 1984 she took her first steps in the movie business as an intern at Bavaria Film Studios. She then participated in many TV and movie projects as a script editor and assistant director. Her graduation project at the Academy for Film and Television in Munich, 'Sommertage', received the Kodak Advancement Prize at the Film Festival in Hof. In 1992 she made the children's film 'Kalle der Träumer' for German TV. In the same year she also started researching the script for 'Beyond Silence'. In 1995 she began shooting the unusual story about a deaf couple and their musically talented child, which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film. In 1999, her successful adaptation of Erich Kästner's 'Pünktchen and Anton' was the recipient of many international awards. 'Nowhere in Africa' was 2002's highest grossing German Film and Caroline Link received a German Film Award for Best Director.
